American country vocalist and songwriter from Baxter, TennesseeBefore joining the cast of The Porter Wagoner Show in 1974 (at age 28), Lea had done two Asian tours with Roy Acuff in 1969 and 1970, performed at park concerts and written and recorded two songs for an independent company. In 1974, she also recorded six songs for RCA.
