Mel London (b. April 9, 1932 (Mississippi, USA) d. May 16, 1975 (Chicago, IL, USA)), american songwriter, record producer, and record label owner, (best known for his Chicago label Chief Records and subsidiaries). He was active in the Chicago blues and R&B scenes in the 1950s and '60s where he wrote songs for Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, and Junior Wells.
