German piano player, born 1948. He studied in Bremen and Hamburg. He attended courses with Friedrich Gulda from 1973 to 1977 and participated in the International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt from 1978 to 1982. Laureate of the International Arnold Schönberg Competition in Rotterdam (1979) and of the Kranichsteiner Music Award (1982). Professor for piano and new music at Folkwang College for Music in Essen since 1989.
