The band project "Morbid Tales" was founded in 2006. Previously, the band was called "Megiddo", which was founded in the 1980s. Guitarist Kai Schmidt and drummer René Kaminsky, who joined Megiddo in the late 1990s, formed the new project "Morbid Tales" together with Megiddo frontman Sven Kehlenbeck and bassist Rolf Lange, who came from the band "Silk 99". The new band's style can best be characterized as melodic thrash metal.

In the following years other musicians joined the band, others left the project for various reasons. Some of them were even part of the line-up several times.
The band has released a total of 3 albums to date, each with a different line-up. A Best Of album will be released in 2022.

Of the founding members, only Kai and René are currently left.

At the moment the band project is generally on hold because Kai and René are currently concentrating on their second band project called "Eurago Arktur".
