As Friends Rust is an American melodic hardcore band based in Gainesville, Florida. The band originally formed in September 1996 in Davie, Florida but broke up in February 1997. Vocalist Damien Moyal reformed the band after moving to Gainesville in mid-1997. The band was active until September 2002, when, after considerable line-up changes, the remaining members decided to change name to Salem (7). Moyal reformed As Friends Rust again in 2008, with the membership of their 1998-2000 era.
