Sayuri Yoshinaga is her distant relative.
Her uncle Akio Yamaguchi's wife and Mother of Sayuri Yoshinaga are sisters.

In 1967 she made her singer debut. Her debut song "世界は二人のために" recorded 1.2 million record sales,
and received the 9th Japan Record Awards the Rookie of the Year award.
In 1969 she was awarded 11th Japan Record Award" with "いいじゃないの幸せならば".
In Japan, It was the first achievement that a female singer won
both the Rookie of the Year award and Grand Prize of the Japan Record Award.

When she became independent from the office she was harassed from the industry by malicious gossip.
After that she began to lose interest in entertainment business.
Now she runs dog breeder school.
