Died Fort Worth, Texas - July 27, 2007

Williams released some of his earliest songs on Coral under the name Slim Williams (2). On Imperial, he used the alias "Ed Lawton". For song credits, he variously used "J. C. Williams" and his real name.

Several songs Williams wrote became hits, including "Fraulein", "Geisha Girl", "Color Of The Blues" (with George Jones), "I'll Always Be Your Fraulein", and "Shame On Me".
