Biography
Fernando Vincenzini
Inspired by English groups such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, among others, Fernando Vincenzini (Fernandino) from Guayaquil began to connect with rock and roll in the sixties.
So it was that from the age of 14, Vincenzini learned to play an old guitar motivated by a melody he had heard in a bar on Calle Rocafuerte, walking back from his school, San José la Salle. That song was I Wanna Hold Your Hand, by the band The Beatles.
Fernandino, as he was known at that time, then undertook his musical journey participating in television programs such as 'El Clan Del Cuatro', 'Pepsi a Go-Go' (first prerecorded musical program in Ecuador, whose production was made by Tele Tortuga and the Pepsi Cola), 'Atardecer Ye Ye', among others. Then, in 1966, at the invitation of Raúl Ramírez (drums) and Pepe Anchundia (second guitar), Fernandino became part of the rock band Los Barracudas, which also included Iván Vasco and Roberto Neumane. The group quickly had several followers and reached popularity with their albums Black is Black (Black is Black), Because, Alcanzalo and The letter, all recorded with their own stamp.
Four years later, the group disintegrated, but Fernandino continued making music in Guayaquil, leaning more for a fusion of heavy rock with Latin influences.
