She made her debut in Rossini's Cinderella in Austria in 1954, she also sang at Wiener folk operas, but then chose to stay at the Stora Teatern in Gothenburg.
In 2004 she became honorary doctor at the University of Gothenburg. Jacobson also received the Musical Academy's finest award for the promotion of tone art.
