Biography

Laurids Lauridsen
Danish modern classical composer (1882-1946). Born blind he was admitted an institute for the blind in Copenhagen, far away from his home on a moorland farm in Arnborg, Herning. He was able to attend the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen and pass the final organ examination. While living as an organist in a small parish church in Skive, Jutland, he composed about 30 classical works, chamber music and lyrical pieces for piano.
