Dorothy "Dilly" Foster began working in broadcasting at Radio 7ZL Hobart in 1933. Later moved to Melbourne and was involved in writing & acting in there "Shell Show" on Radio 3UZ for three years from 1937. In 1942 moved to Sydney and developed a comedy duo on stage & radio with Rita Pauncefort billed as Two Old Fashioned Girls (Ada & Elsie) which lasted until 1954 on 2GB.
