Irish American fiddler and singer (born November 7, 1882 at Glenree, Co. Donegal, Ireland – died January 15, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA)

McGettigan emigrated to the United States in 1907, settling in Philadelphia, where he prospered in the liquor, furniture making, hotel and travel bureau business. Performing at his own saloon, "McGettigan's Home Of Irish Music" on Lancaster Avenue, West Philadelphia, at his own hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and in New York and Washington, McGettigan became the most popular musician in Philadelphia. He recorded more than 80 sides with various companies.
