Biography
GIANT NOT GIANT started as a challenge. For Henry, lead writer and bassist, the challenge was to play and write without guitar (his primary instrument for more than 20 years), and skewing to bass, which meant simplifying the songwriting, and focusing on single-note riffs, as well as a host of effect pedals. For Matt, the challenge was taking on a larger voice in the orchestration, and applying his skills towards new areas of musical collaboration. Within 2 months, the duo had a short set worth of original tunes ready to go; songs that are steeped in the kind of power rock we are used to seeing from Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Death from Above, Royal Blood and others. The duo continue to write and expect to be a part of the impending resurgence of riff-driven rock and roll which is surely on the horizon.
