Born 5 May 1942. Died 18 Sep 2020, aged 78.
The lead singer of american girl group The Marvelettes in the early stages of its formation. Most famous for co-writing the number one hit "Please Mr. Postman" in 1959. She left the group just before the recording, because her christian father didn't want her to sing in night clubs.
