Rupert Cole

Trinidadian jazz clarinetist and saxophonist (alto and baritone), born August 8, 1909 in Trinidad, British West Indies.
Educated in Barbados, moved to New York in 1924, recorded with Bill Brown & His Brownies 1929, played with Horace Henderson, Don Redman 1931-1938, and Louis Armstrong 1938-1944. He worked with Lucky Millinder in the 1950s.
Father of Ronnie Cole.
