Classical oboist. Born in 1924 - Died 19 June 2014.
He studied at the Royal College of Music, London (1942-1943 & 1946-1947). After leaving the RCM, he played in The Midland Radio Orchestra until 1949, and followed this with two years with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a member of the Prometheus Ensemble and Musica Da Camera. Former Principal Oboe with the London Symphony Orchestra (1953-1986).
He was married to Madeleine Dring (first wife, died in 1977).
