He was active from 1937 to circa 1980. He performed in the Orkest Piet van Dijk. With his own orchestra he toured Sweden under the name Ado Moreno. He played in The Ramblers, Boy's Big Band and the VARA-Dansorkest. Broodboom made records with Herbie Mann, Wessel Ilcken, Ger van Leeuwen, The Ramblers and Boy's Big Band, among others.
