Friedrich Hermann

Real name: Friedrich Valentin Hermann

German composer, arranger, editor, violinist, violist and teacher born February 1st, 1828 (Frankfurt am Main) and died September 27th, 1907 (Leipzig). He studied with Ferdinand David, Moritz Hauptmann, Niels Wilhelm Gade and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy at the Conservatory of Music in Leipzig on from its foundation by Mendelssohn in 1843 and became Professor of Violin there himself in 1848, an appointment he kept his entire lifetime.
