April 4, 1945 – January 4, 2020Sundanese composer, orchestra leader and choreographer most known for developing modern Javanese "Jaipongan": a style using gamelan instruments derived from combinations of traditional ritual music "ketuk tilu" and the musics of masked and puppet theatres.
He led the Jugala Orchestra and was married to the singer Euis Komariah
