Mitchell Jambo
Zimbabwean musician and song-writer.
Born in 1960 in Dandazi in Hurungwe, Mitchell began writing songs in 1979. He moved to Harare in 1983 and had spells as backing vocalist with The Sungura Boys and The Tembo Brothers before joining the newly formed Shika Shika Brothers in 1985. This band split in 1986 and Mitchell joined the Zimbabwe Cha Cha Cha Kings as lead vocalist. After a disagreement with band-leader David Ziome in 1989, Mitchell left to form his own band Marunga Brothers.
