American lyricist and composer.
Among his songs to remember: ''The Hucklebuck'', ''Captain Kid'', ''The Best Man'', ''Don't Do Something to Someone Else'', ''Just Like That'', ''You Don't Learn That in School'', and ''I Should Worry''.
Alfred also wrote the lyrics to the hit song "The Rock and Roll Waltz" under the name Dick Ware, copywritten at the time under his mother's name Jeanne (Feinberg) Alfred.
Born May 14, 1916 in New York City, New York. Died: 2008.
Father of Roy Alfred, Jr. and Jonathan Alfred.
