John Baker Trio was fronted by John Baker, a pianist who emerged on the San Francisco jazz scene around the late 1940s. He continued to play in San Francisco through the 1950s and in the 1960s following a move to Sacramento. Baker died in 1991, with the John Baker Trio album his only studio recording.
