Trille

Real name: Née Bodil Gudrun Nielsen; since 1980 Trille Bodil Nielsen

Effective period / Period of releases: 1966 - 1995

Danish singer/songwriter and musician, born 6 March 1945 in Copenhagen, died 17 October 2016 same place. Started out in the 1960's mostly a troubadour reviving old traditional and children's songs. In 1970 she caused a minor scandal performing the - to some lightly blasphemous - sexually liberated song Øjet ("The Eye") about God not knowing anything about sex as he never had any. Later in the 1970's she grew into a major singer/songwriter, especially popular within the Danish women's liberation movement for her discretely protesting realistic songs. Her 1970/80's recordings features some of Denmark's leading jazz and rock session players like Hugo Rasmussen, Ken Gudman, Ole Fick, Anders Koppel, and Øyvind Ougaard. By 1988 she stopped all musical activity and turned herself towards lecturing and television activities.
