Danish/American entertainer, born 4.6 1944 in St.Louis, Missouri, U.S. to Swedish mother and Jewish-Russian father. Died 27 August 2023. Family migrated to Denmark in 1950. First appeared on the music scene as a folksinger in 1969. Accompanying himself on guitar, he released several singles late 60's/early 70's, often Danish versions of folksong hits or reworked childrens songs. Had a national hit with a Danish version of "Simple Song of Freedom". In the early 70's he also appeared in musicals, a.m.o. as King Herod in the Danish version of "Jesus Christ Superstar", in "Hair" and as Brad in "Rocky Horror Pictureshow". In 1979 introducing a comic character, the semi-imbecile "Hugo", he elevated to concerthall musical entertainer/comedian in the 80's and 90's. Has performed rarely since then on the large scenes. Appeared in the role as Danish jazzlegend Leo Mathisen in the 1986 movie "Take it Easy".1993 to 2004 married to Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø
