LAMASSU is a heavy grunge-doom 4-piece from Melbourne, formed from a collective musicians from several regulars on the local Melbourne heavy scene: Motherslug, Field, Borrachero & Olmeg.

Initially starting as a collaboration project between Matt Dawkins (Olmeg) & Chris Fisher (Field), following a couple of early sessions, Matt and Chris soon decided it was worthy of forming a band to fully bring the songs to life, & began looking for musicians to complete the line-up.

LAMASSU released their debut single 'Under The Watch Of A Crow' in July 2018 which was featured on the Doomed & Stoned’s 2019 compilation, ‘Doomed & Stoned in Australia.

Following this, LAMASSU recorded their debut album 'INTO THE EMPTY' in late 2018 with producer / engineer / musician Mike Deslandes (YLVA / High Tension), at The Black Lodge Studios, Brunswick, Melbourne.

'INTO THE EMPTY' was released independently 2nd September 2019 & is available on Vinyl, CD, digital download, Bandcamp and on all streaming services and was supported by Lamassu’s first east coast tour.

2020 began with promise with a solid calendar of shows ahead and a second album to record, however as it was for many, these plans were cancelled due to COVID.

In April 2021 LAMASSU returned to the studio, teaming up again with Mike Deslandes to record their second album due for release in the second half of 2021.
