American songwriter remembered for co-writing the smash hit Young Love with Ric Cartey.
Born August 14, 1938 Died December 7, 1997 in Atlanta (age of 59). BMI IPI #15614312.
The song Young Love has charted nine times between 1956 and 1994, hitting #1 three times by Sonny James (US country), Tab Hunter (UK), and Donny Osmond (UK). She wrote the song with her guitar-playing sweetheart, Ric Cartey, when she was an 18-year-old high school student. Versions by Tab Hunter and Sonny James reached the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard chart, the only time the same song has occupied the top two slots. Over the years, more than 25 million copies have been sold.
