Мухаммаджон Мирзаев
People's Artist of Uzbekistan, composer and musician Muhammadjon Mirzayev has won the respect of the people with his wonderful songs, chants, and melodies. His works reflect life, love, fidelity and devotion, courage and bravery. Muhammadjon Mirzayev was born on August 13, 1913, in Tashkent in a working-class family. From 1920 he studied at secondary school. In 1932, he joined the Tashkent Textile Combine, and in his spare time he learned to play the mandolin in an amateur club organized by the Railwaymen's Club. In 1936 he was employed by the Uzbek Folk Instruments Ensemble under the Uzbek Philharmonic under the direction of Tokhtasin Jalilov. Here M. Mirzayev was taught to play melodies in rubash by Yusuf Akhun in Kashgar. The young musician soon joined the ensemble, learned the secrets of musical performance and creativity, and went through a life school in this ensemble.
His most famous compositions include "Bahor valsi" ("The Spring Waltz") and "Sarvinoz." "Bahor valsi" is played on Uzbek television and radio channels every spring.
His son is composer and musician Shavkat Mirzaev = Шавкат Мирзаев.
