Rep Seki is a band that is primarily fronted by Mike Dixon and has included various band members throughout the band's beginnings in 1999. The band first started because the members of Usurp Synapse asked Mike Dixon to contribute the other side of a split 5" picture disc they had been asked to put out on Magister Ludi records. The lineup for that recording consisted of Mike Dixon on guitar, Josh Bonati on drums, Mark Addison on saxaphone, and Mark Brocklehurst on bass, with James Bauman contributing vocals for the recording. The lineup experienced various changes from that time, finally settling on Dixon, Don Kirkland, Josh Bonati, and Travis Chance. This lineup went on to record the split 10" with mara'akate as well as the Earth Burglar LP on Alone Records. Settling on this lineup also coincided with the band's decision to sing in Japanese.
