Cygnet Committee

Real name: Bjørn Christiansen

Effective period / Period of releases: 1996 - 1998

Cygnet Committee was one of the first projects of a Danish electronic musician and composer Bjørn Christiansen, primarily active between 1995 and '98 before he entirely concentrated on Bjørn Svin as the primary outlet.

In 1995, the same year as Bjørn Christiansen's debut Disconat 12" came out, he began releasing music as Cygnet Committee on Mainline label, debuting with The More 12" on Mary Ann Scott subseries and Smoketown EP on Dancecop, which became Cygnet Comm's main base. The following year, Bjørn produced You Can Run EP and appeared on The Funkicide Remixes 12" by Funkus, one of the projects of Mainline's founder Dan Stielow. In 1997, Cygnet Committee released the first and only CD album, Riomantic, on Dancecop, crediting all tracks to "Bjørn Svin." That year also marked Cygnet Comm's appearance on Drum'n'Bass & Beyond: The Prime Cuts CD compilation from the prestigious US-based label Hypnotic.
