American journalist, poet and lyricist.Born February 22, 1857 Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

Easy to mix up with songwriter Frank Stanton.
He was a columnist for the Atlanta Constitution and in 1925 became the first poet laureate of the State of Georgia, a post to which Stanton held until his death.
