Gary "Bud" Smith was an American country pianist, keyboardist and producer. Born November 5, 1959 in Modesto, California. Died December 1, 2014. Moved to Nashville in 1978 to play piano for The Hemphills, a gospel group. Worked with Barbara Mandrell, Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Randy Travis, Patty Loveless and others. Married Christy Forester in Lookout Mountain, Ga., in 1986.
