New York, NY based Geoff Gersh (aka Ambient Fields) explores the sonic boundaries of the electric guitar with and without the aide of electronic devices and found objects. In response to the 2020 pandemic he started the "NYC Sounds COVID-19" project, a collection of field recordings made in every single neighborhood in NYC documenting the quieter city while under quarantine. Gersh is leader of the guitar ensemble FYRN and performs live music to silent films with his bands Black Lodge and Reel Orchestrette.
