Opération Rhino
Large group of (mostly) French, Paris based musicians, formed in April 1976. The original 9 piece troupe involved: , Alain Astruc, Myron Meerson, Jacques Berrocal, Richard Marachin, Philippe Pochan, Daniel Deshays, Pierre Bastien and Bernard Vitet.
The album involves a much bigger group, and a studio recording made in Paris which was played back whilst the 17 performers played live at a left wing political / music festival in Lyon (organised by one Alain Rauch). Themes by Jac Berrocal and Gilbert Artman can be heard, with one section sounding like a proto Urban Sax.
