Real name: Lucinha Morena

Effective period / Period of releases: 1991

Born in Fernando Pedroza (Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil) in February 21th 1964, Lucinha Morena moved to Natal (RN) when she was twelve. Throughout the years she became an Umbanda and Hindu adept.

In 1991 she recorded her debut album, "Feiticeira de Jaya", which was never commercially released. It is heavily inspired by her religious beliefs, as well as jazz and MPB.

Her first commercially released album, "Índia e o Poder do Som" (1997), was recommended by Trip Magazine as a standout on Indian music in Brazil.

She has worked with Jorge Mautner, Rogério Duarte, Luiz Caldas e Arrigo Barnabé. She has also released two religious book which were commercially successful.

She currently lives in between Natal, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo, SP.
