The Air Power Band is a long running Zambian pop band formed in 1982. It's original line up included Emmanuel Makulu on lead guitar, Steve Miti and Mike Kapesa on bass, Masauso Siwo (Rhythm), Cosmas Zani on Keyboard, Allan Sinkala on drums and Chris Tembo on vocals. The line up has changed numerous times since its founding with most of the original members no longer active in the band. The current line up is much larger than the original band and includes both male and female members. It's music has included pop, funk, reggae and rumba. Air Power Band has been intimately linked to the Zambian Air Force (ZAF) since its inception and has been sponsored by ZAF for over 40 years. The band remains active as of 2024.
