The Kinfolks

The Kinfolks was formed in 1966 by brothers Bill Owens and Louis Owens and initially included their cousin, Ralph Loveday and their nephew, Dale Puckett. In addition to playing live dates in the Nashville and Knoxville areas, they appeared on several singles produced by Bill and Louis and that were credited to either Louis Owens or Ralph Loveday.A second version was formed in 1967 featuring Bill Owens (under the name "Billy Earl"), Louis Owens, and their nephew, Dwight Puckett. This version backed Dolly Parton on her summer and fall 1967 tours and released a six-song EP.
A third version of the Kinfolks formed in the mid-1980s to perform at Dollywood. This version featured several members of the Owens and Parton families.
