Real name: Donald Burton Hinkley

American screenwriter in the 1960s and '70s. He was known for his comedic writing on television shows such as The Steve Allen (3) Show, The Bob Newhart Show (a 1961 variety series), The Carol Burnett Show, The Flip Wilson Show, The Muppets Show , and others. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1972 in the category Outstanding Writing Achievement in Variety or Music for his work, and was nominated for seven others. He was also a frequent co-writer with Bill Dana and Bob Newhart on their comedy sketch recordings of the 1960s.
