Spanish Pop artist.Mercedes Mígel Carpio, artistically known as Vega (Córdoba, February 18, 1979), is a Spanish singer-songwriter and composer nominated for the Latin Grammy twice.1 She became known to the general public in the second edition
Her desire for her music dates back to her adolescence, when she began to sing in venues in the city of her origin. Her musical style ranges from Spanish songwriters to rock, going through styles as diverse as jazz or commercial pop. The artist has expressed her admiration for artists such as Frank Sinatra, Raphael, U2 or Sting.
She has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University College of Segovia.
In 2002 she was selected to compete in the second edition of Operación Triunfo on TVE. The program obtains repercussion and thus she makes herself known to the general public. In order to participate she interrupted her career at the university. She finished her bachelor's degree after her stay in the pageant was over. On the show, she sang the single "La Fuerza de la Vida" with all her classmates. Cordoba was in ninth place in the contest.
