Tommy Zang

Thomas Allen Zang was born October 9, 1930 in Kansas City and raised on a farm near Independence, Missouri. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, where he became the lead singer of the Airmen of Note, the premiere big band of its time. After the Air Force, he moved to Miami, Florida where he performed for decades, and where he signed a recording contract with Hickory Records in 1959. Zang had hit records in the U.S. and Canada with "Hey, Good Lookin'", "Break The Chain", and "I Can't Stop Loving You". He relocated back to the Kansas City area in the early 1980's where he continued to perform. He died September 6, 2005 at age 74.
