The Waycross Express Band was formed in the 1980's by Wendell Dixon and a group of his friends who enjoyed singing gospel and country.The Band was formed in Southeastern Georgia, with Dixon at the head, playing a variety of genre's, bringing a blending of country, rock 'n' roll, blues, gospel and pop.
All eight performers hail from within a 30-mile radius of their namesake, Waycross, Ga
The Group toured live up to the most recent documentation of the early 90s, playing with musicians such as Ronnie Milsap, Lee Greenwood, Ricky Skaggs, Conway Twitty, Jeannie C. Riley, Louise Mandrell, Cristy Lane, Roy Clark, the Oak Ridge Boys and Reba McEntire.
