Real name: Alma Rotter née Henderson

Shellac era pop singer based in St. Louis, Missouri who had one record issued in the OKeh Race series under her maiden name of Alma Henderson. The rest of her recordings were released under her married name Alma Rotter. Mainly remembered for having been accompanied by early jazz greats like Eddie Lang, Lonnie Johnson (2) and Rube Bloom. Born 1902 in Indiana, she started out as a vaudeville entertainer by the age of 11 and was one of the first well-known singers to enter the radio entertaining field. She was featured on station KMOX and also was making a series of singing pictures for the De Forest Photofilm Co.
