Biography
Lillian Standfield
Blues singer-songwriter based in Austin, Texas. Standfield was born in 1954 and passed away in 2013.
Standfield grew up in Oklahoma and in the St. Louis, Missouri, area. She won the 1984 New Folk award at the Kerrville Folk Festival and moved to Austin in 1986. She signed with TSMB Records in 1989 and released Too Many Reasons with this label.
She is credited with coining Austin’s claim to be the “Live Music Capital”, suggesting it at a meeting in 1991.
