Peter Wahlqvist

Swedish actor, director and theater director, born November 6, 1944 in Stockholm.

He began his cultural career as a member of Nationalteatern. Together with Anders Melander, he wrote some of the group's more well-known songs, such as Jack the Ripper. He also appears as an actor in a number of film and TV productions, such as Öyvind Fahlström's Du gamla, du fria from 1972 and in the film "Kurt Olsson - filmen om mitt liv som mej själv" from 1990 where he plays Kapten Lönnrot. In the years 1992-2002, he was director of the Stockholms stadsteater. In October 2003, he took office as Sweden's Cultural Councilor in Washington, D.C.
