Mick was born in Aylesbury, Bucks and his professional musical career started when he joined The Truth, fronted by 9 Below Zero frontman Dennis Greaves. They were signed to Warner Brothers and Mick penned 3 top 40 hits in England and a top 40 hit in the USA.

After the band split, Mick then concentrated on his craft as a songwriter and producer. Later, he signed with Strongsongs Publishing.
