Odense Universitets Lillekor

Danish chamber choir based in Odense. Established by Kai Senstius in 1951 as the youth chamber choir Sct. Knuds Gymnasiums Lillekor ('Lillekoret'). In 1958 Carsten Mollerup became the leader and conductor and also established the larger concert choir, Sct. Knuds Gymnasiums Storekor ('Storekoret') in 1963. About 1981 Sct. Knuds Gymnasiums Lillekor was affiliated to the Odense University and renamed Odense Universitets Lillekor ('Storekoret' renamed Odense Universitets Storekor). Carsten Mollerup was the conductor until 2001 when Saul Zaks took over and changed the name into Syddansk Universitets Kammerkor (SUK) to fit the reorganised and renamed "Syddansk Universitet". In 2016 Syddansk Universitet desided no longer to support the choir financially and the choir was almost closed down - but redefined as Odense Kammerkor in 2017.
