Hal Hackady is an American lyricist, librettist, and screenwriter. Sometimes credited as Hal Hackaday.

Hal has written a number of productions for Broadway, West End, Film and Television. His Broadway shows have included "Minnies Boys", "Goodtime Charlie", "Teddy and Alice", "Ambassador" and "Snoopy".

Hal's extensive television work with over 75 credits includes the award winning mini series "Harry Truman: The Presidential Years". Film work includes "Hey, Let's Twist" which was nominated for Best Written Musical, "Senior Prom", "Crazy Party" and "Snoopy - The Cartoon". Musically he has worked with Peter Allen and Julie Styne, with recordings by Lena Horne, Shirley Bassey, Tony Bennett, Danny Kaye, The Muppets and Sammy Davis Jr.
