The Violets first came to prominence in 2003 as a key part of London's 'New Cross Scene', well documented by early sampler releases on Angular Recording Corporation, co-owned by The Violets' guitarist Joe Daniel.The core threepiece of Joe, Alexis and Andrew were later joined live by Matt Gilbert (Lost Penguin / Not Cool - live bass).
