Paula Pierce

Born: 23 Jun 1960 - Died at 31 years old of a brain aneurysm on August 10, 1991.

Musician, singer.
She became best known for being the lead singer and guitarist of the all-female band The Pandoras from the early 1980s through the early 1990s.

The band released five albums, plus a few singles and EPs.

In early 1991, Paula was working on new material with guitarist Beltri. She had already chosen a new member as a drummer, and auditions were being held to recruit a new bass player. Soon, they chose the new bass player and scheduled to start the rehearsals for August 11th. But unfortunately on August 10th, shortly after exercising and going to take a shower, Paula suffered a sudden aneurysm and died instantly. She was only 31 years old. People closest to her said that she had already been experiencing severe headaches a few weeks before, but she did not mind seeking medical attention.

Some tribute shows were performed with several female artists in honor of Paula, including ex-members of Pandoras Kim Shattuck (deceased in 2019) and Melanie Vammen. The Pandoras continues to be remembered as one of the greatest female Rock influencers of the last decades.
