Inspired by his father, who played songs for him at night at his bedside, Jim started practicing guitar when he was 6 years old. After high school he continued his studies at the conservatory in Amsterdam. Here he learned to use his voice and improved his guitar playing.
In the summer months Jim traveled through Europe and America. He developed a talent for attracting audiences to virtually any square in any city. Up to 350 people regularly admired the street musician. By using his RV as a moving home, Jim managed to survive on the coins from his guitar case.
