Octane originally formed when five Philadelphia musicians abandoned their own steady gigs for a chance to become part of a band that embodied all that was missing from music. They continuously broke the mold of traditional "rock bands," providing a no-frills, no-nonsense, rock 'n roll sound that was reminiscent of the metal acts of yesteryear.

Band members are: Joe Berndt, Brian Bortnik, Bobby Pirylis, Brian Quinn, and Gregg Tripp.
